ABOUT KINSMEN PRINCE EDWARD RV PARK & CAMPGROUND: We had never stayed at this campground before. In fact, we’d never even scoped it out in advance. When in the area in 2019, we drove by and saw that the gate was closed and they were closed down for the season. We took a chance this trip and booked 5 nights in advance. Luckily, it worked out well and we’d stay here again (in an unserviced campsite, not during the summer and preferably not on a weekend).
When we arrived at the Park this trip, we drove through the campground first to pick a campsite. They had reserved Site #13 for us with full hook-ups, but the host saw us and figured the site would be too small for us with the Honda in tow. When we drove through, we didn’t like the full hook-up section at all. It was almost fully occupied with not much privacy at the campsites, plus the section was right by the main campground road with the dump station and check-in kiosk nearby. The second section was an open grassy field across from the playground. These campsites had electric & water hook-ups. The third section was for tents and unserviced sites. These campsites had trees between the sites and some were fairly private. Many were occupied with seasonal campers, probably folks coming in from locally on the weekends. Most were not occupied when we were there.
Prince Edward Kinsmen Campground & RV Park is very conveniently located near Corner Brook, but not so close that you are actually in the City. (In Corner Brook, there is a great lunch cafe called Harbour Grounds. There is a major-stores shopping center with a Dominion Grocery Store and a Pet Value Store, too.)
There are 90 campsites total. Amenities include hiking trails, a beach, comfort station, dump station, drinking water (must be boiled), laundromat, and a playground/play area. Campsites include a firepit and a picnic table. Prices vary according to which type of services are available at the campsite. In Canadian currency, per night: fully serviced $40; semi-serviced $38; and no services $30. Check-in & check-out times are not enforced. NOTE: The season (according to the 2023 Traveller’s Guide) was May 19 to September 5, but they were still open and going strong when we were there in late September.
We chose Site #69 in the unserviced section of the campground. We liked it; it was quiet and private, and it was plenty large enough for us. We paid $150.00 (Canadian Currency) for 5 nights. There was an internet/phone signal.
Kinsmen Prince Edward RV Park & Campground: There’s no street address information available, but the Campground is off Route 440.
