ABOUT JIM KORTSEN WEST PINAL PARK: This was a great campground. We’d never been here before. It offered the bare minimum, but it was all we wanted. West Pinal Park was a County Park on land donated by Jim Kortsen.
There were 24 campsites. The sites were spaced fairly far from each other, some quite far from others, and there was plenty of privacy and quiet. They take reservations, but the Park was not full. We had site #1. We would stay here again, in this same campsite, we loved it. Of the 24 campsites, only one was a tent site (#24); all others would fit our RV and car (favorite sites were #1, #2, #5, #20). We had reserved two nights, but once we got here, we reserved two more.
Sites were large and well-maintained. Most sites were pull-through campsites. There was a friendly Camp Host who stopped by to check on us and introduce herself. There was some traffic noise, but it wasn’t bad since this was a remote area. There were no hook-ups, no trash receptacles, but a few porta-potties were scattered throughout the campground. No drinking water was available. Each campsite was large and each had at least one picnic table, grill, and what they called ramada’s covered them. Cost was $10 per night plus a $2 reservation fee.
