Deer Lake RV Park, Deer Lake, NL

ABOUT DEER LAKE MUNICIPAL RV PARK: We had never camped at this park before. It is located conveniently near the city of Deer Lake and Trans Canada Highway 1, but not so close that noise is a problem. The park is run by the town of Deer Lake. The town beach is nearby. During the summer the noise levels would be pretty bad, but off season it worked out well.

There are 43 campsites; half of them are lined up in a row overlooking Deer Lake; the other half are lined up behind the waterfront sites. When we stayed at this Park in 2023, they were working on adding close to 20 new campsites by creating a third row where there are some trees to offer shade. It offers no privacy but that first row of campsites are right beside the water. The park was well maintained and very clean. Sites had a picnic table and a fire pit plus electric and water hook-ups. There is a dump station in town close to the park. There are some seasonal sites dispersed throughout the campground.

We had site #13, identical to every other campsite in the first row. It was fairly expensive for what you get, particularly for the waterfront sites. We paid $224.25 for 3 nights. The campground opened May 21 and closes October 12. We would stay here again off season for a night or two stopover.
