ABOUT DEADMAN’S COVE TOWN PARK: This Park is operated by the Town. We’ve stayed here twice and both times really liked it. In 2019 they did not take reservations. In 2023 they began taking reservations online or by phone. In 2019 to check in, you either went to the town offices, or on weekends you went to the Ultramar gas station. In 2023 they had people working at the campground office on the premises. They are open June through September. Both visits, we paid $25 per night (Canadian currency); they do accept credit cards. There are no rules regarding check in and check out times.
They have 9 RV campsites and 10 tent sites. RV campsites have water and electric hook-ups. There was a boil water rule in effect for the town. There is a dump station in Harbour Breton. We had site #12 both times we stayed here. It was our first choice. The campsites on either side of #12 (#11 and #13) are also good choices. We stayed 5 nights and wouldn’t mind staying longer. The drives to neighboring villages are great.
Amenities include a playground, office, laundry, restrooms, showers, and the campsites are fairly private and large, each divided by bushy hills around each site. You can hear the ocean waves from the campsites; the beach is not far from the campground. The ocean and a couple of ponds are visible from the campsites beyond the little hills. The road leading to and from Harbour Breton (Route 360) is often rough and they are working on it. Delays and slow downs are common. It’s a long drive without towns, therefore get gas before visiting. We will definitely stay here again.
Deadman’s Cove Town Park: Route 360 south to Harbour Breton, turn right at the RCMP Station (follow the sign) past the Lion’s Club building & playground, and continue about 1 km, campground is on the right. NOTE: this short road to the campground is a bit rough. Phone numbers are (709) 885-2354 or (709) 885-2885 (Harbour Breton Town Offices). The website is at www.harbourbreton.com.
