ABOUT FRENCHMAN’S COVE PROVINCIAL PARK: We stayed at this campground in 2019 and again this visit in 2023. It’s still a very good place to stay. Open mid-May to mid-September, it is one of the quieter parks we’ve stayed at. There are few campgrounds on the Burin Peninsula, and we like it here, so we’d definitely stay here again.
There are 76 campsites at this Park. 20 sites offer electric & water hook-ups and most of those campsites are booked in advance by golfers since those sites border or are near the golf course. Also, these 20 campsites are closer together and not as large as other sites without hook-ups. The remaining 56 campsites have no hook-ups, although some of them have a water hook-up at the site. Water is also available throughout the campground and at the dump station. Like most Provincial Parks, the water must be boiled before drinking it. There are several excellent campsites in the no-hook-up section of the Park and they either have views of the water of the Great Garnish Barasway or they are right on the water with water access at the campsite. The following campsites have a good water view and/or water access AND they are large and private: (in order of preference) #56 & #53 are wonderful with #53 having more of a breeze than #56; followed by #26, #22, and #55. All five of these campsites have room for a separate tent overlooking the water view. The first time we stayed here we had site #26, and this time we had site #56. In 2023 we paid $127.90 (Canadian currency) for 6 nights. Check in time is 3 p.m. and check out time is 2 p.m. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire pit.
The campground offers a comfort station with showers & restrooms, a laundry area, hiking trails, a swimming area with a beach & changing stations, pit toilets, a picnic area, playground, golf course, dump station, bird watching, kayaking & canoeing, and trash receptacles at each site. Generators are allowed 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Park is off Route 213 north of Frenchman’s Cove and south of Garnish on the west side of the Burin Peninsula (about 25 minutes west of Marystown, NL).
