We drove by this campground in 2019 and again in 2023 (June 26). It’s located in the town of Elliston on the eastern side of the Bonavista Peninsula, on the way to the puffin viewing place and where the root cellars are. The campground is just off the road which takes you to these sites, so there could be traffic, but it’s not a bad place to camp if we needed to be closer to the top of the Peninsula. Maybe 10 campsites, or 12? The best sites (big enough for us) would be closer to the entrance, in the field, possibly sites 8, 5, or 6? It’s not private but it’s not just a concrete parking lot either. Reviews were mixed – people were happy with being close to the puffin viewing place or unhappy with the water and electric situation (had to boil the water and the electrical hook-ups weren’t good).
