ABOUT PARIS LANDING/KENTUCKY LAKE KOA HOLIDAY CAMPGROUND, BUCHANAN, TN: We picked this campground because of its location and proximity to the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge, and because the drive wasn’t too long from one campground to another. We had visited this area before and checked out the Paris Landing State Park campground, which at that time was overcrowded and too busy. (NOTE: We looked at that campground again this trip and it was not too crowded, but we did find other alternatives, see other outstanding campgrounds we found in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area nearby.)
Like most KOA’s we’d stayed at, getting reservations, checking in, and out, were simple. The campground was very nice, kind of homey, and was well maintained. They had nice, mature trees throughout, so it didn’t feel like just a parking lot. We were assigned site #D2, a pull-through site with full hook-ups. We did not have traffic (or train) noise at night. Check-in time was 1 p.m. and check-out time was 11 a.m. It cost $213.32 for four nights. We liked this KOA and would stay here again.
The campground offered 74 campsites which included sites for RVs and Trailers, Tent campers, Cabins, and a small Group Camp. They had a playground, yard games, a rec room, swimming pool, a laundry room, an office and store, restrooms, trash receptacles and recycling center, and a dump station.
