ABOUT SPRINGFIELD/ROUTE 66 KOA HOLIDAY CAMPGROUND, SPRINGFIELD, MO: We picked this campground for a one-night stopover because of its location – near I-44, because that’s the road we were coming in on and the road we were leaving on, and because the drive wasn’t too long from one campground to another.
Like most KOA’s we’d stayed at, it was perfect for a one-night stay. Getting reservations and checking in, and out, were simple. The campground was very nice, kind of homey, and was well maintained. The had nice, mature trees throughout, so it didn’t feel like just a parking lot. We were assigned site #53, a pull-through site with full hook-ups. The campground was conveniently located about 1 ½ miles from I-44, far enough away so that we did not have traffic noise all night, for a change. There were train tracks running near the campground, but there were rarely trains. Check-in time was 1 p.m. and check-out time was 11 a.m. It cost $48.38 for one night. We liked this KOA and would definitely stay here again.
This campground offered 100 campsites which included sites for RVs and Trailers, Tent campers, Cabins, Glamping Tents, and a Group Camp . They had a playground, yard games, a swimming pool, a camper kitchen, a group grill, EV charge station, a laundry room, a dog run, a propane station, an office and store, TV lounge, rec room, restrooms, showers, trash receptacles and recycling center, picnic area, pizza, donuts, and a dump station.
