Kansas City East/Oak Grove KOA Holiday, Springfield, MO

ABOUT KANSAS CITY EAST/OAK GROVE KOA HOLIDAY CAMPGROUND, OAK GROVE, MO: We picked this campground for a one-night stopover because of its location – near I-70, because that’s the road we were coming in on and the road we were leaving on, and because the drive wasn’t too long from one campground to another.

Like most KOA’s we’d stayed at, it was perfect for a one-night stay. Getting reservations and checking in, and out, were simple. The campground was older and not as well maintained as others we’ve been to, but it was just fine. We were assigned site #27, a pull-through site with full hook-ups. The campground was conveniently located right by the Interstate (I-70), but it was fairly noisy with the traffic going by and in particular, the noise from the truck’s engine braking. For just one night, though, it was good enough. Check-in time was 1 p.m. and check-out time was 11 a.m. It cost $74.50 for one night (overpriced).

This campground offered 106 campsites which included sites for RVs and Trailers, Tent campers, and Cabins. They had a playground, a swimming pool, horseshoes, volleyball and basketball courts, a laundry room, a dog run, a propane station, an office and store, breakfast during the summer, rec room, restrooms, showers, trash receptacles, jump pad & mini-golf, picnic area, dump station, and a gift shop. We’d stay here again for one night because it was convenient.
