WE HAVE NO SIGNAL AGAIN.
Day 347 – Yes, we have no internet connection and no phone yet again. Blog posts will go out once we have a signal so that Rob can upload the pictures and a signal so that we can send it out. If we go somewhere and find a signal in a town or something, we’ll be in touch.
It was warmer here, 50 degrees this morning with full sun and some wind. As the day progressed, it got very windy. We watched campers leave and their sites were immediately taken by someone else. We’re lucky to have this campsite. We heard the Wolf during the day with a couple of eerie howls. Otherwise, the only wildlife we saw was a cute little Cottontail Rabbit that was hanging around when we were in the screened tent.
We didn’t go anywhere. We got a lot accomplished: got some semblance of order going, so that we could plan ahead as to where we were going next, now that we’re away from the smoke, but couldn’t completely plan because we had no internet – to be continued when we get a signal; caught up with the blog; and made a large batch of Creamy Smoked Salmon Soup for the next several nights. We spent quality time in the tent. It was a good, productive day. By afternoon, it had reached 78 degrees and it remained quite windy. The girls seem to like it here.
When we were in the tent, a couple walked by with their dog and stopped to talk. They were from this area. They said that they’ve seen Mountain Lions in this campground, and that there are definitely Rattlesnakes in the brush. We’ll be sticking by the campsite.
