Harbor Vista Campground, Florence, OR

ABOUT HARBOR VISTA CAMPGROUND: We hadn’t stayed at this campground before, but we did visit it recently when scouting out parks. The Harbor Vista Campground, a Lane County park, worked out very well for us. The whole time we were here it was stormy with high winds and lots of rain. Our site was sheltered, surrounded by thick bushes and trees, which protected us from the worst of it. The park wasn’t crowded; we think the weather probably had something to do with that.

The campground is located in Florence, Oregon near where the Ocean meets the Siuslaw River. The park is situated in a residential area and there are no busy roads nearby. It was a quiet location and the park was well maintained. A campground road leads to the beach, and there are hiking trails. A bike ride from the park to the beach would’ve been nice, weather permitting.

There are 45 campsites. We had site #9. All campsites offered electrical and water hook-ups; twenty-three of those sites also had sewer hook-ups. Water was also available throughout the park at spigots. Many of the campsites were surrounded by trees and bushes, making them private sites, but some sites were too short for us and a few were not level. Our favorite campsites were: #9, 8 and 32 (front-in sites), and back-in sites #34 and 17, although most campsites were good. Site #13 had an ocean view from the side, but it was not private otherwise.

The campground offered restrooms, showers, a dump station, a day use area, regular & recycle trash, camp office, playground and picnicking. The park is open all year, check-in time was 2 p.m. and check-out time was 12 noon. We payed $160 for 4 nights. We would stay here again.
