ABOUT FLAG CITY RV RESORT: Flag City is a private campground with all the amenities of a big park. It does not cater to children; it’s mostly used by people passing through. It is located right off Interstate 5 between Stockton and Sacramento; Lodi is just east of here. We had stayed here once before when passing through. It’s very conveniently located with easy in, easy out campsites. There are two large campgrounds in this area – the other one is family/children oriented, so I guess most of the people with kids go there. We rarely see children here.
It is basically a big parking lot with amenities: full hook-ups for 180 RV sites, a swimming pool & heated spa, propane on site, surrounded by fast food restaurants and gas stations, 3 laundry rooms, a clubhouse & convenience store, restrooms & showers, 2.8 acre recreation area & dog park, picnic table at each site, concrete pads, etc. In addition, the Park is very well maintained and clean. It was surprisingly quiet last time we were here, so we decided to return and use it as a base camp for two excellent wildlife/birding sites: Staten Island Preserve & Cosumnes River Preserve, which are both fairly close by. In addition, we found out this visit that the Michael David Winery is close by, too (Earthquake & Freakshow red wines). We did not visit them but should the next time we’re here if we are at all low on wine.
We had site #E30. The only real noise here is the traffic from the interstate. We paid $62.10 per night with a 10% Good Sam Club discount. We did 7 loads of laundry; the machines were spotless and in good working order. We would stay here again, just for the convenience.
