Tucson Lazy Days KOA Resort, Tucson, AZ

ABOUT TUCSON LAZYDAYS KOA RESORT: We have never stayed at this campground before, nor have we traveled through the Tucson area. We called all over trying to find a two-night, Friday/Saturday night campsite and all were booked. Staying at a KOA has never been something we strived to do because they are usually expensive, too crowded, and just to get a 10% discount you need to be a “member”. This experience may have changed our minds – a little.

This campground was located a bit below the busiest parts of Tucson between two major interstates. It was convenient to be close to these interstates for easy on/easy off drives to run our errands. There were plenty of gas stations near us, also convenient. The KOA was gated; we felt safe. It was spotlessly clean and customer service was very good. They were professional, organized, friendly, experienced, and helpful. The KOA was HUGE with lots of amenities – another reason we don’t usually stay at KOA’s, you pay for all these amenities which in our case, we never use. The cost was $147.80 for two nights.

There were 12 deluxe cabins, 5 “Sky Deck” sites (whatever that is), 20 grass sites, 13 “Deluxe Paw Pen Sites (whatever that is) with Fireplace”, 44 covered sites, 13 fireplace sites, 4 deluxe tent sites, 7 paw pen sites, 4 “Buddy” sites (whatever that is), 4 “Young Explorer” sites (whatever that is), and 264 regular sites. We had a “covered” site, #1408 – “covered” consisted of being under the massive tall platform that supported the solar panels.

Amenities included: 4 dog parks, a camp store, offices, restrooms, dog wash, laundry room, fitness room, game room, grand canyon room (whatever that is), pickleball courts, fenced in dog run, a library, propane, a nature pond, a playground, registration building, fire pit rentals, bike rentals, a BBQ restaurant, basketball court, horseshoes, 2 chip & golf areas, parking, gem mine, a pool & spa, a playground, daily organized events/fun games & get togethers, and trash pick-up at campsite. All sites had full hook-ups.

A fancy hotel for people on the road. If we were to come back to Tucson for a night or two, we would stay here again.
