Day 17 – Cold again, 39 degrees this morning at 6:45, partly cloudy. Chris already got back to us with the answers to a couple of questions we had, some references, and as requested, a sample of his contract for us to review. Another good thing about Chris, he’s always gotten back to us quickly, whereas several of the contractors have yet to even submit a preliminary draft estimate. Oh, and guess what? We have again made a few more changes to our home plan. We’ve had several requests that we share the home plan on the blog. Thank you for your interest! Once we’re relatively sure we’ve got it finally together, we will do so. I mean, at some point, we’ve got to stop, right? Grin.
We got our first reference call-back for Chris Goodwin Carpentry this afternoon, a glowing review – but then again, what would you expect from someone who was submitted as a reference. Coldish today, never got above 58 degrees. We slogged through a game of Monopoly, beginning before & including happy hour.
In the evening we got a response to our second reference call – again a glowing recommendation. Independently, each reference said we are lucky we got in with Chris, he’s such an in-demand contractor. We’re excited about Goodwin Campentry; let’s hope he continues to want to do our project after he sees our current plan with the changes, and that the quote he gives us then is still something we can afford to do.
