Wednesday Oct. 1 – Saturday Oct. 11, 2025

The house is almost fully sheathed and the garage roof is almost done!

Construction progress, Cliff Haven, ME

On Wednesday Oct. 1, Rob worked on the fascia connecting the garage to the cottage while Jesse and Channon worked on sheathing the final section of the cottage roof.

On Thursday Oct. 2, the full crew continued working on sheathing the final portions of the cottage roof.

On Friday Oct. 3, the full crew plus Brandon finished up the cottage roof sheathing. Wayne and Rob worked on building an interior wall for the electrical panel.

On Saturday Oct. 4, Rob worked alone fixing the garage rafter tails which didn’t quite meet up with the cottage roof.

On Saturday Oct. 5, Rob spent the day cleaning up the site and re-arranging and inventorying the construction materials so he could order more.

On Monday Oct. 6, Rob worked alone prepping for the electrician to come the next day. He had to dig up some buried conduit to move it over to make room to route it into the house.

On Tuesday Oct. 7, the whole crew worked on adding the garage eave ladder framing while the electrician began working on routing the electrical service into the house. Rob worked on setting up the well pressure tank for the electrician to connect to the well power circuit.

On Wednesday Oct. 8 there was a rainstorm with high winds and we had a day off.

On Thursday Oct. 9, the whole crew worked on framing the garage reverse gable to connect the garage to the cottage. Thursday night we had a freeze warning and many tourist related businesses are starting to close down for the season! They won’t re-open until May, or later, next year. It’s starting to feel like we better get moving on getting the house dried in!

On Friday Oct. 10, the whole crew, including Brandon, worked on sheathing the garage roof while the electrician continued working on hooking us up to power. We also received the windows we had ordered minus two that got broken in transit. We’ll have to wait until Nov. 10 before we can have all the windows available to put in. Dang!

On Saturday Oct. 11, Rob & Vicki went to Machias to look at exterior doors. We have to make some decisions soon!
